Instructor Profile:	Norma Ferrell's tai chi journey began in 2005 when she began learning the Yang Short Form as taught by Rena Su in Savannah, Georgia. The class inspired her to continue practicing and learning tai chi for personal growth and to share with other people. Norma knew from her first class that tai chi offered life changing benefits for her mind, body, and spirit. In 2007, Norma moved to Raleigh, NC and began training with Master Trainer Caroline Demoise and became certified in TCA I & II and TCD. Norma was a scholarship recipient and attended the weeklong workshop at Mt. Holyoke in 2008. There she certified to teach Tai Chi @ Work with Dr. Lam and studied the Sun 73 Form taught by Troyce Thorne. Norma attended the weeklong workshop in Memphis in 2009 and studied Depth of Sun 73 with Caroline Demoise. Norma continues to study Sun 73 taught by Caroline Demoise and attended two workshops in Asheville, NC with senior trainer Bob Feeser. She attended Dr. Lam's In-depth TCA workshop in Sisters, Oregon in November, 2009. Norma assisted Caroline Demoise with a TCA I and Sun 73 workshop in 2009. She also organized a TCD workshop for Caroline Demoise in November, 2009. Norma began teaching TCA I in 2008 at a senior living community. Today she teaches 14 classes per week in 5 counties in NC. The facilities where she teaches include hospital wellness centers, senior centers, independent senior living communities, assisted living homes, cancer care centers, and an integrative health center. Norma is also an instructor for the UNC Arthritis Foundation Tai Chi Research Study. She often demonstrates tai chi at Arthritis Foundation events, support group meetings, church gatherings, and wellness/health events. Three of Norma's students have been certified by Caroline Demoise to teach TCA & TCD. Norma continues to mentor the new instructors and assist them with new classes and upgrading their skills. Norma is currently learning the Yang 24 Form in preparation for the week long workshop in Tacoma, WA. Norma's intention is to continue teaching and playing tai chi with love to promote health and harmony.
