Tai Chi for Diabetes

This program is different but complimentary to the Tai Chi for Arthritis program. Designed to improve control and prevent diabetes, the program has different stages of physical exertion to minimise the risk of hypoglycemia. It is supported by Diabetes Australia.

Hi Dr. Lam,

Your Tai Chi for Diabetes program is another winner! This program should also help lots of folks with diabetes, but like TCA can be beneficial to anyone for health benefits. After becoming certified at your workshop I am looking forward to teaching this program as well. Having diabetes myself I can help both myself and others at the same time. The opportunity to acquire this great program was how I got started in this--I only discovered I had diabetes myself after I signed up for the workshop! Keep these excellent tapes coming--we are touching many lives in a positive and healthy manner. Best wishes.

Bob

Dr Lam,

The July/August article in Diabetes Self Management was wonderful. One of my students brought it to class and I made a copy for the class. They enjoyed it.

keep up the good work

I attended one of your exploring the depth of your Tai Chi workshop and came back home all rejuvenated. My class wanted something new to learn for the spring semester, so we opted on the Tai Chi for Diabetes forms. The DVD was very helpful and thanks to your quick response about the back on view of the demonstration I was able to respond quickly and honestly to my student's query.
We had a little problem with the "kick with left and right toe" but after modifying the kick and punch warm up exercise, we are now performing this movement smoothly. By learning the nine pads of the foot exercise and centering our lower dan tien, we can maintain perfect balance while kicking. It is an absolute marvel to stand back and watch the class perform this movement.
The video is very easy to follow and because of the format, it can even be used on a small DVD player and still be seen. A couple of my students who have to travel a lot find this form ideal to practice in motel and hotel rooms with limited space.
The Qi Gong exercise was easy to learn because it can be taught as an extended version of the parry movement in TCA. So, anyone with a knowledge of Tai Chi for Arthritis will have no problem with it. As with all of your other videos that I have studied, I find this one excellent. Thanks for the good work.
The examples of the movements are precise, well explained and easy to follow.

Thumbs up Wall Charts

Hi Dr Paul Lam,
I have recieved the three wall charts - TCA, TCD and warm up/cool down.
These are a great visual tool for students, including the flow chart in TCD. Students learn in different ways and these explain the steps clearly for those needing the additional visual aid.
Thanks Dr Paul Lam.
